Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 12 tablespoons lemon zest, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 12 cup milk
  • 1 12 cups flour
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 13 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Method

  • Cream together butter, sugar, lemon rind.
  • Add eggs and lemon juice.
  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add flour mix alternately with milk to batter.
  • Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  • Let cool 5 minutes.
  • Prepare topping and pour over bread.
