Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Method
- Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
- Separate yolks from whites.
- Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
- Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
- Add egg whites to yolks.
- Beat in sugar.
- Add vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
- Add dry ingredients to egg mixture, a small amount at a time.
- Scald milk.
- Add butter to milk and let melt.
- Add milk and butter to first mixture and blend well.
- Bake in moderate oven, 325° to 350°, for 40 minutes.
