- 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (14 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 envelopes spaghetti sauce mix (Lawrey's)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz. lasagna noodles
- 2 (6-8 oz.) pkgs. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
- 1 c. creamed cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Method
- Brown meat slowly; drain off excess fat.
- Add next four ingredients.
- Cover and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add small amounts of water if necessary.
- Salt to taste.
- Cook noodles in boiling, salted water until tender, following package instructions.
- Drain, rinse in cold water.
- Place 1/3 of noodles in 9 X 13 baking dish; cover with 1/3 of sauce, then layer 1/2 of Mozzarella and 1/2 of cottage cheese.
- Repeat layers, ending with sauce.
- Top with Parmesan.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until heated through.
- Let stand 15 minutes.
- Cut in squares.
- Can be prepared ahead and frozen.
