- 4 slices white bread
- 3/4 c. hot milk
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. shortening
- salmon fillet
- white wine
- Worcestershire sauce
- garlic powder
- thinly sliced onions
- mayonnaise (or 1/2 yogurt)
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. brown sugar
Method
- Place salmon skin side down on large piece of aluminum foil on a cookie sheet or flat pan, folding up edges of foil to collect juice.
- Sprinkle fillet with wine, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
- Frost like a cake with mayonnaise (or combination of yogurt).
- Decorate top with onion slices, then just before baking, sprinkle brown sugar over the top.
- Bake, uncovered, on center shelf of oven, preheated to 400°, for 20 minutes only.
- Serve immediately.
- Do not overbake or fish will become dry.
