Ingredients

  • 1 large fryer, stewed, boned and cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chicken stock
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • garlic to taste
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c. picante sauce or 1 small can Ro-Tel tomatoes, crushed
  • 1 pkg. tortilla chips

Method

  • Combine chicken, onion and green peppers.
  • Layer tortilla chips, chicken mixture and cheese.
  • Mix chili powder, garlic, soups, picante sauce and chicken stock together.
  • Pour over layers.
  • Top with grated cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Serves 8 to 10.
