Ingredients

  • 3 cups All purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1 cup butter - room temp
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 large eggs
  • SAUCE
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3 tbls water
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • Grease and flour 12 cup bunt pan or 10" tube pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients.
  • Beat on low speed until moistened. Then beat 3 minutes at MED speed.
  • Pour batter into prepare pan.
  • Bake for ???????
  • SAUCE -
  • In a small saucepan over low heat, combine all sauce ingredients and cook until butter is melted. Stir occasionally. DO NOT BOIL.
  • FINISHING -
  • Bierce the cake all over with a fork and then pour the Sauce over the warm cake.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes or until sauce is absorbed.
