Ingredients
- 3 cups All purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
- 1 cup butter - room temp
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 large eggs
- SAUCE
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3 tbls water
- 2 tsp vanilla
Method
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Grease and flour 12 cup bunt pan or 10" tube pan.
- In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients.
- Beat on low speed until moistened. Then beat 3 minutes at MED speed.
- Pour batter into prepare pan.
- Bake for ???????
- SAUCE -
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine all sauce ingredients and cook until butter is melted. Stir occasionally. DO NOT BOIL.
- FINISHING -
- Bierce the cake all over with a fork and then pour the Sauce over the warm cake.
- Let stand for 5 minutes or until sauce is absorbed.
