Ingredients

  • 2 cup Butter
  • 2 cup White Sugar
  • 1/4tsp Salt
  • 2 cup Semi Sweet Choc Chips
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Almonds

Method

  • In a large heavy bottomed saucepan, combine the butter, sugar and salt.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted. Allow to come to a boil and cook until the mixture becomes a dark amber color and the temp is 285 degrees.
  • While the toffee is cooking cover a large baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  • A soon as the toffee reaches the proper temp, pour it out onto the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle Choc Chips over the top and let set for a minute.
  • Spread the chocolate into a thin layer once it has melted.
  • Sprinkle the nuts over the chocolate if preferred.
  • Place the toffee in the refrigerator to set.
  • Break into small pieces and store in air tight container.
