Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 c. quick cooking oats
- 1/2 c. nuts
Method
- Cream shortening and sugars.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift together flour, salt and soda.
- Add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats; mix.
- Form dough in rolls 1 to 1 1/2-inch diameter. Wrap in waxed paper; chill.
- Slice cookies 1/4-inch thick.
- Bake on ungreased sheet at 350° for 10 minutes.
