Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage, skinned and crumbled
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Method

  • Place frozen bread dough on well-greased baking sheets. Grease top of each loaf.
  • Let stand, covered, for 2 hours or until thawed.
  • Do not let rise.
  • Brown ground beef and sausage with onion and green pepper in skillet, stirring frequently; drain. Cool.
  • Press dough with greased hands over surface of baking sheets.
  • Layer with ground beef mixture and cheese.
  • Roll as for jelly roll.
  • Place seam side down on baking sheets.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Yield:
  • 24 servings.
