Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can coconut
- 1 c. pecans
- 5 egg whites, beaten
Method
- Combine sugar, butter, and oil; beat well. Add egg yolks, one at a time; beat well. Sift flour and soda together; add with buttermilk to the batter. Add vanilla, coconut, and nuts. Fold in beaten egg whites. Grease and flour 3-9 inch.
- cake pans. Bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
