Ingredients
- 5 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. yeast (1 pkg.)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. corn oil
- 2 c. warm water
Method
- Put flour in bowl and mix in yeast, salt and oil.
- Add water and work/knead until velvety smooth.
- Put in bowl; cover with cloth and let rise until doubled in size.
- Punch down.
- Knead 5 minutes. Shape into 2 loaves in greased pans.
- Cover with cloth and let rise until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 450°.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° and bake 45 minutes more.
- It will sound hollow when tapped.
