Ingredients
- 1 gal. sliced cucumbers
- hot water
- salt (pickling)
- vinegar
- alum
- sugar
- pickling spices
Method
- Day 1:
- One gallon sliced cucumbers, 1 cup of pickling salt. Fill jar with hot water.
- Let cucumbers stand for 1 week in salt water, shaking every day.
- Shake every day from Day 2 until Day 6. On the Day 7, drain salt water off.
- Pour boiling water over pickles.
