Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or oleo
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 egg yolks (save whites)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. pecans, shelled and crushed
Method
- Cream butter, sugars and eggs; add vanilla and mix well.
- Add flour and salt.
- Refrigerate dough until chilled.
- Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts.
- Dip the balls in egg whites and roll in the crushed pecans.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet and smash center of ball with thumb, leaving a bowl shape.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
- The cooled cookies can be iced with a favorite icing or filled with fruit jam.
