Ingredients
- 4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 c. butter or oleo
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. chopped nuts
- 8 c. flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. McCormick pure vanilla
Method
- Cream sugar and shortening.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Add nuts and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, cream of tartar and baking soda.
- Add to
- mixture and mix well.
- Roll into long rolls. Refrigerate at least overnight.
- They should be rolled in aluminum foil while refrigerated.
- When ready to bake, take out one roll at a time.
- Cut in slices and bake at 350° until done, approximately 10 minutes.
- Will appear a little undone.
- This makes a big batch.
