Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. corn meal
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. grated onion
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
Method
- Cook corn meal and water, stirring until begins to roll up. Remove from heat.
- Add milk, oil and onion.
- Stir until smooth. Add beaten eggs.
- Blend dry ingredients.
- Add to corn meal batter. Drop batter by teaspoons into hot fat.
- Makes 24 to 30.
