Ingredients
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. Crisco
- 3 Tbsp. Hungarian paprika
- 2 pieces chicken per person, skin removed
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 green pepper (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
Method
- Saute onion in Crisco until lightly brown.
- Add chicken, paprika and enough water to almost cover.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook slowly until chicken is tender, approximately 30 minutes.
- Mix flour and water along with sour cream; blend well.
- Remove chicken, add cream mixture to drippings. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Serve over dumplings or noodles.
