Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 3 Tbsp. Hungarian paprika
  • 2 pieces chicken per person, skin removed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 green pepper (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 pt. sour cream

Method

  • Saute onion in Crisco until lightly brown.
  • Add chicken, paprika and enough water to almost cover.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover and cook slowly until chicken is tender, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Mix flour and water along with sour cream; blend well.
  • Remove chicken, add cream mixture to drippings. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Serve over dumplings or noodles.
