Ingredients

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 2 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 2 c. bananas, chopped

Method

  • Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Add eggs and salad oil, stirring by hand until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • (Do not beat with mixer.)
  • Stir in vanilla and pineapple and 1 cup each of the walnuts and bananas.
  • Spoon batter into three well-greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Remove from pans and cool completely.
  • Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting sprinkling the remaining cup of walnuts and bananas over the top of the icing.
