Ingredients

  • 1 Foodsaver
  • 1 Ziploc bag
  • 1 scissors

Method

  • Place the food in the bag and trim off the zipper with some scissors.
  • Cut the zipper into 2 pieces and place 1 off the zippers vertically in the middle of the bag.
  • Trim the zipper to just above the bag.
  • Now, just use your foodsaver as you normally would and viola, a vacuum sealed bag on the cheap.
  • TIP: Depending on the thickness of the plastic bag, you may have to run the cycle 2 or 3 times to get a proper seal.
  • With the thin sandwich bag that I used, I only had to run it once.
