Ingredients
- 2 cups milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 6 1/2 cups flour
Method
- Dissolve dry yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
- In mixing bowl add milk, sugar, salt, shortening and dissolved yeast.
- Add flour a little at a time.
- Knead and let rise. Turn onto floured board. Shape into rolls.
- Let rise again.
- Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
