Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Fudge Sauce

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch tube or Bundt pan, shaking out excess flour.
  • Beat oil, eggs and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and lemon colored. Sift flour with cocoa, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Add to egg mixture, alternately with milk and vanilla.
  • Beat at low speed until blended.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake about 1 hour or until center tests done.
  • Cool in pan 10 to 20 minutes before inverting on a serving platter.
  • Serve warm with sauce and whipped cream, if desired.
  • Serves 10 to 12.
