Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1/2 c. red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c. Chinese hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 c. peanut or vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. aniseed
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 lb. pork spareribs

Method

  • In a small bowl, combine honey, vinegar, hoisin sauce, oil, aniseed and cinnamon; mix well.
  • Trim excess fat from ribs and place in a shallow 8 x 12-inch pan.
  • Pour marinade over and turn ribs to coat.
  • Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight, turning once.
  • Heat oven to 450°.
  • Remove ribs from marinade (reserve marinade) and place on rack in broiling pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
