Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. graham flour or whole wheat
  • 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening (room temperature)
  • 1/4 c. each: honey and oil
  • 3 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1 tsp. each: salt and baking soda

Method

  • Blend all ingredients together (3 minutes).
  • Divide in half; place half on ungreased baking sheet (17 x 14-inch); flatten out and roll out, flouring glass so as not to stick to rolling pin or glass.
  • Score into 2-inch squares.
  • (Leave in place.)
  • Prick all over with fork.
  • Bake in middle of preheated oven at 425° for 8 to 10 minutes, or until browned.
  • Remove and cut along scored lines while hot.
  • Let cool on baking sheet.
  • They crisp while they cool. Watch carefully when baking.
