Ingredients

  • 12 c. flour
  • 4 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cake household yeast
  • 2 tsp. salt

Method

  • In a large bowl or pan, put flour.
  • After placing the flour in the bowl, make a hole in the center of the flour.
  • Put lukewarm water, sugar, Crisco, egg, yeast and salt in.
  • Mix all ingredients together gradually (you may need to add more flour), until it becomes a large ball.
  • Cover with a cloth and let rise until double in size.
  • Form buns and place in long baking pans.
  • Cover with a cloth and let rise again.
  • Set oven temperature to 350° and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown.
