Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 lb broccolini, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

Method

  • Tie pork with kitchen string at 1/2-inch intervals. Combine hoisin sauce, sherry, honey and five-spice in large bowl. Add pork; turn to coat. Cover; refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Heat a large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Cook pork until browned all over. Place pork in a deep roasting pan. Roast for 1 1/2 hours, or until tender. Cover; stand for 10 mins.
  • Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave broccolini until tender; drain. Combine oyster sauce and oil; drizzle over broccolini. Slice pork and serve with broccolini.
