- 1/2 lb. hamburger
- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 4 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 qt. tomatoes
- 1 qt. water
- 1/4 c. rice
- 4 potatoes, diced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. dill weed
- 4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 cabbage, chopped
Method
- Brown meat and onion.
- Add carrots, celery, tomatoes and water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add rice; simmer 30 minutes.
- Add potatoes, herbs and spices and cook 30 minutes.
- Add cabbage and cook 5 minutes before serving.
