- 2 pounds ground beef, lean
- 1 cup onions chopped
- 1 cup cracked wheat (bulgur) uncooked
- 2 cups tomatoes fresh,
- 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons beef stock
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup parmesan, parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated grated
- 3 tablespoons parsley leaves snipped
Method
- Cook and stir the meat and onion in a large skillet until the meat is brown.
- Drain off the excess fat.
- Stir in the remaining ingredients except the grated Parmesan Cheese.
- Heat to boiling then reduce the heat and simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until the wheat is tender, about 30 minutes.
- Stir in the cheese and garnish with additional snipped parsley and/or Parmesan Cheese.
