Ingredients

  • 6 peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 c. sugar
  • butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 rounded tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. hot water

Method

  • Put the sliced peaches in baking dish. Cover with 1 cup sugar. Dot with butter and put in a 375° oven until the batter is prepared.
  • Sift dry ingredients. Beat egg and add hot water, then dry mixture and vanilla.
  • Take peaches from oven, cover with batter and bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
  • Reduce heat and bake for 30 minutes. Serve with cream or hard sauce.
  • It is very good with apples, too.
