Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. soda

Method

  • Butter one large baking sheet; set aside.
  • In iron pan, combine sugar, syrup and water.
  • Cook over medium-high heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  • Add raw peanuts and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches hard-crack stage.
  • Add butter and mix until well combined.
  • Sprinkle baking soda over mixture, stirring constantly.
  • Immediately pour mixture onto prepared baking sheet.
  • Hold sheet at angle to make candy spread.
