Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. flavoring
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Mix first three ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  • Boil without stirring until drops of syrup form hard brittle threads in cold water.
  • Remove from heat.
  • After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring.
  • Pour into lightly buttered cookie sheet.
  • Cool.
  • Break into pieces.
  • Put into bag and shake with the powdered sugar.
