Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. can tomatoes
  • 2 c. diced carrots
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1 (13 1/2 oz.) can beef broth or 2 bouillon cubes
  • 1 to 2 tsp. salt (or less based on seasoned meat)
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. diced potatoes
  • 1/4 c. elbow macaroni
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Method

  • Brown meat (seasoned), onion and garlic on low heat, then add other ingredients except macaroni,
  • Cover and simmer 1 hour.
  • Add cooked macaroni (1/4 cup uncooked).
  • Simmer an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Yields 4 to 6 servings.
