Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. hamburg
- 1 c. diced onion
- 4 c. water
- 1 beef bouillon cube (optional)
- 1 potato, chopped
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1 c. shredded cabbage
- 1/4 c. uncooked rice
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
Method
- Chop onion.
- Brown hamburg and onion in large pot.
- Drain off fat.
- Add water and bouillon cube.
- Wash and chop potato and carrots.
- Wash and shred cabbage.
- Add potato, carrots and cabbage.
- Bring to a boil.
- Sprinkle rice into the mixture.
- Add pepper.
- Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add tomatoes.
- Heat to simmering and serve.
