- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 3/4 c. barbecue sauce
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 (15 oz.) can vegetarian baked beans
- 1 (10 oz.) can refrigerator biscuits
- 1/2 c. low-fat shredded Cheddar cheese
Method
- Heat oven to 375°.
- In skillet, brown ground beef, onion and green pepper.
- Drain.
- Stir in beans, barbecue sauce and brown sugar.
- Heat until bubbly.
- Pour into a 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
- Separate biscuits and then cut in half crosswise.
- Place biscuits, cut side down, over hot meat mixture.
- Sprinkle cheese over biscuits.
- Bake at 375° for 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
