Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 or 2 hot peppers, chopped
  • 1/2 c. grated cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can water (measure in soup can)
  • 1 or 2 lb. squash, washed, trimmed and sliced
  • 2/3 c. instant rice
  • 1/3 envelope Spanish flavoring for yellow rice (optional)
  • 1/2 c. crushed cracker crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Brown the hamburger, 1/2 cup chopped onion and the hot peppers.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat and add the cheese, half of the soup and half the water.
  • Mix well together and set aside.
