- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 6 c. water
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 c. carrots
- 1 1/2 c. onions
- 1 1/2 c. celery
- 1/2 c. green pepper
- 1/3 c. barley
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomato sauce
Method
- In large Dutch oven brown ground beef, drain, stir in remaining ingredients.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour or until vegetables and barley are tender.
