Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground meat
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans chicken broth
  • 1 qt. plus 1 pint water
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can crushed tomatoes (I prefer stewed)
  • 1 small pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 c. elbow macaroni

Method

  • Fry hamburger in a large pot.
  • Add chicken broth, water, onion soup mix, celery, tomatoes and frozen vegetables.
  • Simmer 15 minutes.
  • Add the macaroni and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Salt and pepper may be added to taste.
  • (I do not add salt or pepper; onion soup gives it enough flavor).
