Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (with liquid)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 bouillon cube, dissolved in 1 c. water
  • 2 c. biscuit mix
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. flour, mixed with a little bouillon

Method

  • Brown the onions and meat in butter.
  • Add mushrooms, salt, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon and flour.
  • Blend well.
  • Bring to a gentle boil for 5 minutes.
  • Pour into buttered casserole dish. Combine milk and biscuit mix.
  • Spoon over meat mixture.
  • Bake at 425° for 25 minutes, uncovered.
  • Spread sour cream on top. Sprinkle with grated cheese and return to oven for 5 minutes. Serves 6.
