Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • 2 1/2 c. coarsely grnd cooked ham
  • 2/3 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • Veg. oil for frying

Method

  • Heat butter; stir in flour.
  • Add in lowfat milk all at once, cook and stir till bubbly.
  • cook and stir 2 min more.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in mustard and onion.
  • Add in grnd ham; mix well.
  • Cover and refrigeratethoroughly.
  • Shape mix into 10 balls.
  • Roll in bread crumbs, shape each ball into a cone.
  • Dip into mix of egg and water; roll again in crumbs.
  • Chill.
  • Fry in oil till golden 2 to 2 1/2 min.
  • Drain, keep hot.
  • Serve with cheese sauce or possibly gravy if wanted.
  • Great for leftover ham.
