Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 2 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon grated onion
- 2 1/2 c. coarsely grnd cooked ham
- 2/3 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp. water
- Veg. oil for frying
Method
- Heat butter; stir in flour.
- Add in lowfat milk all at once, cook and stir till bubbly.
- cook and stir 2 min more.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in mustard and onion.
- Add in grnd ham; mix well.
- Cover and refrigeratethoroughly.
- Shape mix into 10 balls.
- Roll in bread crumbs, shape each ball into a cone.
- Dip into mix of egg and water; roll again in crumbs.
- Chill.
- Fry in oil till golden 2 to 2 1/2 min.
- Drain, keep hot.
- Serve with cheese sauce or possibly gravy if wanted.
- Great for leftover ham.
