Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Miced Garlic
- 1/4 cups Dark Rum
- 1/4 cups Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cups Pineapple Juice
- 1 teaspoon Ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cloves
- 2 To 3 Ham Steaks
- 3 cups Pineapple Chunks, On Skewers
Method
- In a heavy saucepan, combine the butter and the garlic until the garlic starts turning brown, about 3 minutes.
- Add the rum, sugar, pineapple juice, ketchup, cinnamon and cloves.
- Simmer for 10 minutes or until the sauce gets nice and thick.
- Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
- This can be made the day ahead and stored in the refridgerator.
- Start the charcoal grill (or gas) and get the coals hot.
- Grill the ham steaks 4 minutes on each side; when you flip them, coat both sides with the sauce.
- When you have about 5 minutes left, add the skewered pineapple chunks to the grill and coat that with the rum sauce.
