Ingredients

  • 16 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 14 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 34 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 14 cups old fashioned oats
  • decorative sugar

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg and beat slightly to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cocoa.
  • Add to batter gradually.
  • Then stir in the oatmeal.
  • Roll cookie dough into balls and then place on baking sheet.
  • Using a buttered glass dipped into decorative sugars, press lightly to spread into more of a cookie shape.
