Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 lb. sirloin steak, cut into 1/8-inch pieces and diced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 4 tsp. soy sauce
  • boiled rice
  • 2 c. bouillon
  • 2 green peppers
  • 4 small tomatoes, quartered
  • 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Method

  • Heat oil in heavy skillet.
  • Add meat, salt, pepper, onion and garlic.
  • Cook over moderately hot heat, stirring constantly, until meat is brown.
  • Add bouillon and green peppers.
  • Cover closely and cook over low heat 10 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and cook 1 minute longer.
  • Blend together cornstarch, soy sauce and water.
  • Add to skillet and cook 3 or 4 minutes longer, stirring constantly, until mixture is hot and sauce is thickened.
  • Serve at once over hot rice.
