Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 4 sq. (4 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. pecans, coarsely broken
Method
- In a double boiler over hot water, stirring often, melt butter and chocolate.
- Remove from range and double boiler bottom; reserve.
- In a medium bowl, stir together flour and sugar; add eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth.
- Add reserved chocolate mixture and beat to blend.
- Fold in pecans.
- Turn into a buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350° oven until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Loosen edges; cool and cut into squares.
