Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 green peppers
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 12 oz. whole corn, drained
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 1 c. American cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp. oleo, melted

Method

  • Precook peppers in boiling water 5 minutes. Brown meat and onion. Add corn, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and monosodium glutamate.
  • Simmer until heated through (5 minutes). Add cheese. Stir until melted.
  • Layer meat, pepper strips, meat, etc., in baking dish. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40 minutes.
