Ingredients
- 2 (1 lb.) cans cut green beans, drained
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 1 tsp. Beau Monde
- 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
- 1 stack pkg. Ritz crackers, rolled to fine crumbs
- melted butter
Method
- Grease 1 to 2-quart baking dish liberally with butter.
- Cover sides and bottom of buttered dish with half of the Ritz crumbs. Place in layers:
- beans, cheese, onion and water chestnuts.
- Makes 2 layers.
- Cover with mushroom soup.
- Top with remaining Ritz cracker crumbs.
- Drizzle 3 or 4 tablespoons melted butter over crumbs.
- Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
- Serves 10 to 12 people.
