Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 6 green apples
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • pastry for top crust

Method

  • Peel, slice and core apples.
  • Fill pie crust with apples to desired depth.
  • Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; pour over apples and dot with butter.
  • Cover with top crust.
  • Seal edges and brush with melted butter.
  • Make a small opening in center of top crust to allow steam to escape.
  • Cook until apples are tender and juice bubbles and crust is golden brown.
  • Bake at 350°.
