Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour (heaping)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa (heaping)
  • 2 egg yolks (save whites for meringue)
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Scald milk on medium heat.
  • Mix together dry ingredients. Separate eggs.
  • Stir in about 2 tablespoons dry mixture with egg yolks so when added to the milk it will not curdle.
  • Add flour mixture to milk slowly and let get thick.
  • Add butter and vanilla while hot.
  • Pour into cooked pie crust.
  • Put meringue on and cook.
