Ingredients

  • 3 c. oats
  • 3/4 c. sunflower seed
  • 3/4 c. wheat germ
  • 3/4 c. peanuts
  • 3/4 c. coconut
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. raisins

Method

  • Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Mix well.
  • In a saucepan, heat remaining ingredients, except raisins.
  • Add the hot mixture to the ingredients in the bowl.
  • Spread this mixture on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 250° for 45 to 50 minutes. Stir mixture every 15 minutes.
  • Stir raisins into baked mixture. Cool.
  • Store in airtight container.
  • Yields 1 1/2 quarts granola.
