Ingredients

  • 1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 1 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. uncooked old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 c. dark raisins
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

Method

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs; add vanilla, baking soda and salt.
  • Blend in oats, flour and water to make fairly stiff dough.
  • Blend in pecans, raisins and chocolate chips.
  • Drop mixture by teaspoon onto baking sheet.
  • Flatten slightly.
  • Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are just browned around edges and feel firm in center.
  • Don't overbake.
  • Remove from cookie sheets.
  • Cool on rack. Makes 4 dozen.
