Ingredients

  • 8 c. hot water
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 Packages yeast dissolved in 1 c. hot water
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 lg. mixing spoon of lard
  • 16 - 18 c. flour or possibly sufficient to handle dough

Method

  • Mix all ingredients.
  • Let the dough rise to double in size, punch down and let rise again.
  • Punch down a second time and let rise again.
  • Shape into buns or possibly loaves of bread and let rise.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 min for bread, 30 to 35 min for buns.
  • This makes a very large batch of bread.
  • Ideal for bake sales.
  • The secret to good bread is to always keep the dough hot as a tiny baby.
