Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening or possibly 1/2 c. oil
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 Large eggs, 3 if lg.
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 c. oatmeal
  • 2 c. chocolate or possibly butterscotch chips or possibly raisins
  • 1 c. minced nuts

Method

  • Use large bowl.
  • Soften butter and shortening.
  • Stir till creamy.
  • Add in sugars and vanilla.
  • Cream some more.
  • Add in Large eggs, beat till fluffy.
  • In another bowl combine flour, soda, salt and baking pwdr.
  • Add in to creamed mix 1 cupful at a time, mixing well.
  • Fold in oatmeal same way, adding chips and nuts last 1 c. at a time.
  • Batter will be very thick.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 min.
