Ingredients

  • 1 small head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can water (tomato soup can)
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. instant rice (uncooked)

Method

  • Place chopped cabbage in bottom of 3-quart casserole.
  • Brown meat and onions.
  • Pour off fat.
  • Stir in rice, salt and pepper. Spread meat over cabbage with spoon.
  • Mix tomato soup with water and pour over mixture.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for approximately 1 1/2 hours or until cabbage is soft.
  • Serves 4 to 5.
